Jay Fields is Chief Executive Officer of The Fields Companies and President & Chief Operating Officer of JD Fields & Company, Inc. Since becoming COO in 2018, Jay has worked to diversify JD Fields into manufacturing and other joint business ventures, including acquiring Alameda Pipe & Fab, and the new JDF HDM spiral weld mill in Sinton, Texas. Under his leadership, The Fields Companies has also added foundation equipment supplier JDF Equipment, Bear Dean Capital – an investment company that deals in real estate, hospitality, and film production – and the private equity firm Foxgate Captial to its business portfolio.
Joel Showalter
Joel Showalter, CPA, is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of JD Fields & Company, Inc. He brings over 20 years of international experience working in the oil and gas industry, including eight years with General Electric. Joel’s expertise is paramount as the business grows to include more international clientele and multi-faceted projects across the manufacturing and distribution industries.
Walter Van Zuthem
With over two decades of experience, Walter Van Zuthem joined JD Fields & Company, Inc. in 2012 to help grow the Construction Products Group. His reputation and relationship building skills had an immediate impact on sales revenue and mill partnerships, resulting in tremendous growth. JD Fields President and COO Jay Fields tapped him to lead the Construction Products Group through its evolution of continued market growth and vertical integration. As Executive Vice President at JD Fields and President of Construction Products, he will oversee the development and operations of the JD Fields-HDM spiralweld mill in Sinton, Texas, positioning the company as the premiere spiralweld manufacturer in North America.
Tom Biggs
Tom Biggs is President of Tubular Products at JD Fields & Company, Inc., bringing three decades of experience in oil and gas with a focus on steel pipe and establishing a well-earned reputation as a top salesman and technical strategist. Tom is responsible for developing and leading the team under the company’s Tubular Products Division, reporting directly to JD Fields President & COO Jay Fields as the company continues to expand its capabilities into steel product manufacturing. Tom is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
Michael Carroll
Michael Carroll is Founder and Managing Partner of Foxgate Capital, the real estate private equity investment firm added to The Fields Companies portfolio in 2020, where he oversees all aspects of the firm along with the day-to-day operations for advancing opportunities in the real estate sector. Prior to establishing Foxgate, Michael served as President and General Counsel at Riverway Properties and founded Riverway Capital Partners, an investment acquisition arm of the Riverway Companies. In addition to his law degree, he will graduate from the Executive MBA program at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business in 2022.
Brian Ellenberg
Brian Ellenberg is Vice President of Operations at JD Fields & Company, Inc., bringing 30 years of experience in plant operations with a strong focus in the oil and gas sector. He joined JD Fields as Director of Material Logistics in 2007, where he has managed an inventory of 150,000 tons of steel tubular and piling products across 20 yards throughout North America. Armed with deep operations knowledge, Brian oversees day-to-day operations in his current role and contributes to the planning and execution of future growth for The Fields Companies.
Dean Abbondanza
Dean Abbondanza is Director of Engineering & Business Development at JD Fields & Company, Inc. With an educational background in civil engineering and more than 20 years of experience in engineering sales and technical marketing, he is dedicated to the deep foundation industry. Dean has been published multiple times in trade outlets and has established a reputation as an accomplished sales engineer and technical marketer of steel pile foundations. His work on designing a HMZZ hybrid wall system was recently awarded a U.S. patent, and he is an active member of the ASCE, Geo-Institute, DFI, PDCA & AAPA.
